UK Consumer Music and Electronics Hobbyist publication

Electronics & Music Maker or E&MM magazine was first published in March 1981 by electronic component supplier Maplin Electronics Ltd. In its early years the magazine usually published a good range of DIY projects and related articles, but thereafter it became more of a Music equipment and technology magazine with very few DIY articles. The magazine was sold and the name was changed to Music Technology in November 1986 with a snarky introduction, divorcing itself from the "fiberglass paperclips" of hobbyist kit maker Maplin.
Music Technology appeared as The Mix in an issue dated as June 1986 which was called the  "first issue" The Mix ceased publication in February 2001.
