A publication of RCA starting in 1938

RCA Ham Tips began in September of 1938. It was published by the Radio Corporation of America ostensibly to promote the use of RCA tubes by amateur radio operators. Each issue generally provided four to eight pages of advise and and news about products and their usage. There were features, such as a contest for the best RCA tube equipped ham rig. A principal vehicle for the distribution of the newsletter was the electronics supply store, and there was space on each issue to stamp the dealer's name.
The increasing use of transistors is cited as the cause for this publication's demise.
