    UK Classical music and phonograph magazine from 1923.

The Gramophone is a magazine published monthly in London.It was established in 1923 by Scottish author Compton Mackenzie. Until the early 30's, the title was "The Radio Gramophone". Since its inception it has been devoted to classical music, particularly to reviews of recordings.In the 20's and 30's it also featured gramophones and sound equipment.
 The magazine was acquired by Haymarket in 1999. In 2013 the Mark Allen Group became the publisher.
Gramophone long claimed to be: "The world's authority on classical music since 1923." This statement appeared on the front cover of every issue until well into the new Millennium;
