Radio Retailing / Electronic Technician Search
 Radio Retailing

Radio retail and service magazine from 1925 into the 60's with various titles
Radio Retailing was a monthly magazine for radio sales and service retailers published by McGraw-Hill from January, 1925 until the late 60's.The magazine included features on new products as well as articles about selling them at retail. It also had material for servicing radios and related home electrical devices. Of course, the ads from set manufacturers and parts suppliers are a big part of the publication. There is also some content about radio, FM and TV stations that was relevant to the retailer.
Radio Retailing's predecessor was Electrical Retailing from February, 1922 to December, 1924.
In April, 1939 the name became Radio & Television Retailing
In December, 1942 'Radio Retailing' merged with 'Radio Today' (Briefly "Radio & Television Today") to become' Radio Retailing Today'. By July 1952, it became Television Retailing.  It quickly became Technician in August,1953 and in November, 1956 it became Electronic Technician- The Magazine finally ending its run as Electronic Technician / Dealer, lasting the 1980's

Electronic Technician
"Best Cartoons"
1961 Booklet
"Service" Magazine absorbed in 1959
All former Service subscribers started
to receive Electronic Technician in January, 1959 after a two month gap to give us time to cross-check, and will continue to do so for a period equal to the dollar value of the unexpired portions of their subscriptions. ET's cost is twice as great as Service's because it is twice as large, so one issue of ET will be served for every two of Service still due. For example, from Oct. 1958 to your Jan. 1961 Service expiration covers 27 issues; divide this by 2, giving yourself the benefit of fractions, and you have 14 issues of ET still to come starting Jan. 1959. Your new ET expiration date is Feb.1960. Subscribers to both magazines are having their ET subscriptions extended on the same basis. To be sure of a continuous flow of all issues from here on out, be sure to fill in the renewal notice you receive from our circulation dept.-
Many issues of Technician are courtesy of Tom Kirkland
